On Thursday, June 6th, 2024, Reflo Company Ltd, under the leadership of Managing Director Ms. Rebecca Osam, proudly joined hands with The Florence Mensah Foundation in a heartwarming initiative aimed at empowering young girls in Assin Ochiso, located in the central region of Ghana.
Mr. Jacob Sereboah, the head teacher of Assin Ochiso D/C Junior High School, extended a warm welcome to the foundation’s representatives and Reflo Company Ltd, introducing them to the gathered community members.
Ms. Rebecca Osam, in her remarks, reiterated the profound commitment of Reflo Company Ltd to the well-being of the African woman and girl child. She expressed pride in partnering with the Florence Mensah Foundation to provide 213 girls with a six-month supply of sanitary pads, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
Madam Florence Mensah, the esteemed founder of the Florence Mensah Foundation, delivered a poignant address, expressing her deep joy in providing sanitary pads to young girls. She underscored the initiative’s pivotal role in safeguarding girls from exploitation and enabling them to pursue their aspirations unhindered by menstrual challenges.
Following this inspiring gesture, the Reflo’s Ladies conducted an informative health talk on menstrual hygiene, imparting valuable knowledge on pad usage and disposal techniques. Practical demonstrations emphasised the importance of proper hand washing and garment care to maintain hygiene.
In a touching theatrical performance, students portrayed the struggles faced by families in accessing sanitary products, highlighting the significance of the initiative. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to both the Florence Mensah Foundation and Reflo Company Ltd for their compassionate support.
The event concluded with the distribution of a six-month supply of pads to all menstruating girls present, reaffirming the commitment of both organisations to improving the lives of young girls in the community. Ms. Rebecca Osam, alongside the Florence Mensah Foundation, pledges continued support to empower African women and girls, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come.
